ESL Instructional Strategies
Description: This module was constructed to support classroom teachers with ESL students for whole group instruction. The primary goal was to give teachers strategies the could be immediately implemented in their classrooms without creating any significant extra preparation. The second goal was to ensure that classroom teachers understood that ESL instruction was not the sole responsibility of the ESL teacher. This module can be easily adapted to different learning environments. It can be used independently without direct guidance from an instructor but it also provides opportunities for an instructor to build in additional learning experiences for in-person training.
